Turner Pleased To Take Closer Look At Joe Gamble

Hartlepool United Director of Sport Chris Turner has spoken about bringing Cork City player Joe Gamble to the club on trial.

Gamble joined the club on a trial basis yesterday so Turner can take a closer look at the player. Although he won’t be able to feature for the first team, Turner is seeking permission for him to face Sunderland Reserves tomorrow night.

”He is training with us. It is nothing more than that at the moment. There is nothing set in stone. I am trying to see whether he can play against Sunderland.”

Capped twice by the Republic of Ireland, Gamble is free to join Pools in the January window ”I have seen him a play a couple of times when I went to watch Cork in the summer.

”Because of the circumstances at Cork, a few players are being allowed to leave and so we have decided to take a closer look at him.”
