Passionate People, Passionate Places – That’s what the current ONE North East publicity campaign is called and it appears Hartlepool United boss Danny Wilson is a believer.

Speaking to the Northern Echo Wilson said it’s Pools passionate fans who are driving him and his team on. Wilson commented:

‘I am working with good people up here and it’s a hotbed of football. The fans are very passionate and that drives you on.

We have got over a bit of a hiccup in the early part of the season. We have put that behind us and hopefully we can keep moving forward.

There are expectations, but we are not going to boast about things. We have got our own standards and goals we want to achieve, but we will keep quiet on that.

It’s hard enough in this league and we don’t want to give anybody any more incentives when they play against us.’

Pools travel to Lincoln on Friday night looking to continue our climb up the table, it looks like their will be a good following of Pools fans making the relevatively short journey. The home side have lost their last two games are are determined to get back to winning ways.

Lincoln boss John Schofield said:

‘Friday’s game is now massive for us and it is a game we have got to take maximum points out of.’

Yeh, i have to agree about the passion of the fans from this neck of the wood. For example, teams like Darlo lack the excitement that Poolys generate. They had a manager Hodgy who i actually liked but couldn’t show the same sort of excitement in the turnstiles. Compare that to the VIc on a Friday nite when Michael Nelson is making one of his surging tackles or Matty is running past players or dynamite Daly is craning his next to score one of his majestic headers. The potentiial and fanbase in this club is immense and it is good that a talented and experienced manager like Danny Wilson has recognised the potential in the club.
