Manager Of The Month Nominations

The nominations for September’s League Two manager of the month are in….

Up for the award are Walsall’s Richard Money, Wycombe’s Paul Lambert, Notts County’s Steve Thompson, and Hartlepool United’s Danny Wilson.

The award is often seen as something of a jinx, many a time a manager has won the award and then gone on to lose their next game. That’s a load of tosh of course, Danny Wilson has steered his side to four wins, one draw and one defeat during the month and must be a strong contender for the champers with only the 3-0 home defeat to Shrewsbury really blotting the copybook.

you guys looked good the other week over at the KC , I think your manager has done a great job for you and you look good for the season

No disrespect to Danny but I really hope he doesn’t get it – if memory serves me correctly the last time a Pools manager won one was Neale Cooper about 18 months ago and we hardly won another game all season!

The jink is just a stupid myth, nothing more, why would winning an award make you play badly in your next couple of games.?
