Hartlepool United boss Danny Wilson was quick to hold his hands up after Friday nights 2-0 defeat away to Lincoln City.

Goals on 39 minutes from Jamie Forrester and 60 minutes from Jeff Hughes saw Pools recent impressive form brought to an abrupt halt.

Speaking on the Pools official text message serive Wilson said:

‘We paid the penalty for being too loose in too many area of the field tonight. We won’t cry over spilt milk though, we just have to get on with things.’

Elsewhere in League Two local rivals Darlington were hammered at home by James ‘Maximus’ Sharp inspired Rochdale. The visitors romped to a 5-0 win with on loan Pools player Darrell Clarke make an 83 minute substitue appearance.
