Ahead of this afternoon’s encounter away at Gillingham Chris Turner has revealed that he will not make wholesale changes, if any, to the side that await their first league win.

Pools have a drew 1 game away at MK dons and have suffered defeats at home to Charlton and Bristol Rovers, but despite failing to notch up three points the squad will stay relatively similar.

Ritchie Jones is back in contention and Adam Boyd is pushing for a starting spot but Turner wants a settled squad in place.

”So it’s not about chopping and changing – that’s the last thing we need to be doing. We need to bed the team in and bring back players gradually.” Turner told the Sunderland Echo.

Pools more than deserved three points on Tuesday night and with a small minority of fans calling for Turner’s resignation after only three games into the season it has clearly frustrated Turner during his midweek interviews but insists the potential is there.

”I thought the lads in the first 40-odd minutes against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night did extremely well. On another day they could have been three goals up.”
