Turner Critical Of Goal Shy Strikers

Chris Turner has warned his strikers to start hitting the back of the net or face being dropped from the team.

Pools’ strikers have scored only once from open play since the turn of the year and Turner is concerned ”Our strikers seem to have one good half then one bad half at the moment.

”They have to be consistent and have to be looking over their shoulder now. The others need to start pulling their fingers out and scoring goals.”

He told the Mail that all it will take is one goal ”I’m not putting any pressure on them there. I’m just stating facts. I just want one of them to start scoring.

”A striker’s job is to score goals and it doesn’t take Einstein to realise that the teams in the top 10 have players who have got 18 to 20 goals. We have not got anywhere near that and if we want to have success, we need it.”
