Transfer Embargo Lifted

Hartlepool United had this morning announced that the club is no longer under an FA transfer embargo.

In a statement on the official Hartlepool United website the club explains:

“Once it was clarified that the Football League would not be giving any grace period to relegated clubs, IOR has been working hard behind the scenes to comply with the rules (that player salaries must not exceed 60% of the Club’s turnover).

As a result of several player movements and restructuring of funding from IOR, new Club financial information was re-submitted to the Football League.

Word was then given that the Club complied with the regulations and, as such, the embargo has now been lifted.

So Danny Wilson can now dip his toe into the transfer market. Top of the wanted list must be a left back, a central midfielder and a replacement for the departed Adam Boyd.

With £500,000 in the bank from Boyd’s move to Luton and a further £75,000 from Thomas Butler’s switch to Swansea, Wilson certainly has the spending power to bring in experienced players.

Sixteen days to get those three or four players in that we need then. Get spending Danny!

I think we could see at least a couple of players before Saturday. Wilson will have his targets already lined up, it will just be a case of crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s.
