Swindon Town manager Maurice Malpas has spoke out after his side missed out on the signing of Ritchie Jones.
Jones was in talks with Swindon for several weeks before joining Hartlepool and Malpas told the Swindon official site that he did not like Jones` attitude ”There was a lack of eagerness on his part. I had to pull the plug because we just didn’t get a response.”
”It is his prerogative to choose where he goes and he has done that.”
Malpas said that he pulled out of negotiations when the player failed to reply ”All I will say is that he showed a lack of urgency to come here and that’s not the type of player we need here. He didn’t get back in touch and that’s where our interest ended.”

Jamie McCunne did similar last season too, Didnt he?
I’m a friend of Ritchie’s and if you look back you’ll find that MM only offered him a trial – who in their right mind would be eager to go on trial when a rock solid offer is on the table ??? Swindon’s chief scout was still chasing Ritchie and so MM didn’t pull the plug at all – he was simply beat to the signing by a club that were willing to put their money where their mouth was.
It sounds like sour grapes on the part of Maurice malpas.
Jones has made a big mistake going to Hartlepool, he was all set to join Port Vale then bottled it at the last minute. We’re a massive Club and it proved too much for him, which is a shame.
