Hartlepool manager Danny Wilson has said that he wil not allow players to live off their former reputations this season.

Wilson told the Mail that he wasn’t looking at what has happened in previous season ”I am not worried about reputations – I only pick teams that we think can go and win games.

”If a young kid comes through and proves himself they will be given an opportunity like we have done before here.

”The young players and the ones on the fringes have got to make an impact, although we don’t want to put too much pressure on them.

‘The likes of David Foley and James Brown have got to pull up their standards and command a place in the team.”
