Any potential bid for Roy O’Donovan from Hartlepool has been put on hold as the striker enjoys a holiday.

O’Donovan enjoyed a successful spell at Pools, scoring 9 goals in just 15 games, eclipsing his previous best goal scoring record in England. His hotshot form caught the attention of several League One sides like Colchester and Southampton.

Chris Turner told the Mail he hadn’t talked to him about a possible move to the Vic ”Roy’s away. He went on holiday after the Brentford game. He’s proved that that’s the sort of striker we need. His nine goals played a major part in us finishing 16th until the points deduction.”

O’Donovan quickly became a fans favourite, but Turner knows there is surely o be interest from other clubs ”He may have five offers on the table from Championship clubs or so-called bigger clubs in this division who are rumoured to be looking. We may have a chance but his goals ratio is what you need to do well in this league and progress.”
