Hartlepool United have announced that midfielder Nobby Solano has left the club.

Former Newcastle favourite Solano joined the club last summer but fell out of contention when Neale Cooper replaced Mick Wadsworth as manager in December.

His spell at the club effectively ended when he failed to report for a reserve team game against Hull City in February, but it has taken until now for the club to officially confirm his departure.

Solano joins Gary Liddle, who was also released today, in leaving the club. Adam Boyd, James Brown, Callum Hassan, Colin Larkin and Steve Haslam were also released earlier this month.
