With all playing 43 League Two games in the 2016/17 season, this year could still see a few players break the 20 goal mark.
With goalscoring so far this season, the Golden Boot race is pretty much a five player race with John Marquis (Doncaster Rovers), John Akinde (Barnet), Danny Hylton (Luton Town), Matthew Godden (Stevenage) and Omar Bogle (Grimsby Town) best placed to take the recognition this season.
With a few games remaining though a number of players could potentially make a late run on Marquis’ 25 goals so far this year but sitting on 15 goals or below I think, short of some brace and hattrick runs of form, we can now discount them.
So limited to those with twelve or more strikes so far this campaign, here’s how the table currently sits.
