Hartlepool United Reserves beat Lincoln City Reserves in the Pontins Holiday League at Victoria Park thanks to a Michael Mackay hat-trick.

Before the kick off there was a minutes silence held for Michael Maidens and Pools were ahead two up early on after goals from Mackay. The former Consett man tapped home a rebounded shot and then doubled the lead with a good finish.

Godwin Antwi The Pools side included Godwin Antwi who looks likely to be on the bench for Saturdays game against Brighton and they went 3 in front at the beginning of the second half.

Mackay was on hand to complete his hat-trick when he headed home from a Steven Turnbull cross with half an hour left. Pools could have had more but settled for a convincing win against the Imps.
