Matty Dolan was a player that we’d all hoped we could have kept last season, at least on loan for the vast majority of it as he impressed during his loan spell from Middlesbrough.

That wasn’t to be the case though.

Middlesbrough eventually recalled the midfielder before allowing him to join Bradford on loan, with him making that loan a permanent move in the summer. Dolan’s struggled to get into the League 1 sides team on a regular basis so this saw him return to the Vic last week on loan.

Dolan’s return was a boost but his second debut against Wycombe Wanderers ended in defeat, with him telling the official website (much as Paul Murray had) that individual errors must be cut out, some cleansheets secured and if we take our chances at the other end we can get some much needed wins.

He knows its tough at the bottom but also knows that you need to be prepared to battle to get our of it, and this is what he’s called upon his teammates to do as he knows he will.

‘It’s tough when you’re down the bottom because you have to roll your sleeves up and be prepared to battle because that’s what it’s going to be.

‘We had a meeting after the game and I think the main thing is that we have to get back on track, get together and let’s go again.’

A good battle cry Matty, now lets see how many are willing to follow you into this battle!
