Dearden On Baptiste To Pools Rumours

Mansfield Town boss Billy Dearden has stated that he hasn’t recieved any bids for defender Alex John Baptiste.

There are persistant rumours that Pools are interested in signing him but the Stags boss said he han’t heard anything ‘Danny Wilson has not spoken to me about Bap, although I do know he likes him as a player.

He later revealed that he would most likely hear about a possible transfer some time after initial enquiries had been made ‘If there has been a bid for him it will have gone through the chairman or chief executive, not through me.

Dearden said that he had not spoke to the player in a whilfor some time but hopes to fend off the challengefrom Hartlepool ‘I haven’t spoken to Bap for a while but I expect I will to see what he intends to do. I still want to keep him here.’
