Darlington striker Curtis Main has joined Hartlepool United on trial and is set to take place in the reserves game with Scunthorpe this afternoon.

Main looks set to be released by the Conference side after struggling to break into the side under Mark Cooper but the 18-year-old has been training with Pools recently and will start for the reserves today.

Born in South Shields, Main became the youngest player ever to play for Darlington when he came off the bench against Peterborough United in May 2008, aged 15.

Aston Villa, Fulham and Middlesbrough have all tracked the player in the last 3 years.
