Hartlepool United’s Mick Wadsworth has admitted that he’s looking for more hungry young players to join his squad this summer after completing the signing of Nathan Luscombe.

The former Sunderland midfielder will join the club officially at the end of the season and Wadsworth hopes there’s more to come.

”I hope Nathan is the first of many. We need a change around to supplement the squad and thin the squad – that’s the name of the game at the end of the season.

”Nathan has done well since he’s been with us in training and reserve games. He’s caught the eye for us when we played Sunderland reserves and I think he is the right sort.”

Wadsworth told the Mail that the player was desperate to join the football club ”He’s a tough guy but is a very good footballer and more than anything he has been desperate, busting his bridges, to join Hartlepool United.

”That is a wonderful thing. Other clubs wanted him, but we gave him a chance and I`m delighted with his attitude. He’s a good age to develop and we believe he can do that here.”
