Hartlepool United will travel to Gainsborough Trinity in the FA Cup first round next month but who are they?

Gainsborough Trinity, also known as the Holy Blues, play their football in the Conference North. The same division as former league side Boston United, Tamworth and Blyth Spartans.

They are currently 13th in the table and beat Bradford Park Avenue 4-0 to reach the first round proper. They are currently managed by Paul Mitchell and they finished in 12th place last season.

Their home ground, the Northolme, holds 4,304 and is nicknamed the chapel.

A notable former player is Neil Warnock who went on to play for Pools and then manage in the premier league with Sheffield United. Darren Knowles has also played for both clubs.

Hartlepool have faced the Trinity once before in the FA Cup, way back in 1912 Pools suffered a 4-0 loss. We’ll be looking for a better result this time.
