Turner: Monkhouse Needs To Calm Temper

Hartlepool United winger Andy Monkhouse must calm down and stop picking up bookings, according to Chris Turner.

Monkhouse has missed Pools last 2 games after picking up 10 yellow cards this season and Turner says he must calm down ”I told him he needed to calm down when he got sent off three years ago at Rochdale!

”A lot of his bookings are foolish when he gets involved in things he doesn’t need to. It is costly because we miss him when he is suspended.”

He told the Mail that the bookings are costing the team ”I don’t think he has been booked this season for being aggressive.He has been booked for frustration rather than going gung-ho into a tackle to prevent a goal or shot.

”His bookings have come from tripping someone up, pushing a player over or shouting at a linesman. He has to cut them out.”
