Another set of fans questions has been put to Hartlepool Director of Sport Chris Turner, the whole article is available here, but we’ve picked out a few key points.

– Turner has admitted that the club needs to introduce more fans forums and that he’ll be live on BBC Tees this coming Monday to answer questions.

– He believes that the poor away form is down to either ”the mentality of the players or mistakes that have cost us results away from home.”

– When asked again about bringing young players through, Turner said that it’s not the situation to bring young players in to.

– On Jonny Rowell; ”He played at Scunthorpe in December and without being disrespectful to Jonny, two of his mistakes led to two of their three goals. There was a freekick that he conceded outside of the penalty box and he lost the ball in midfield that led to another goal. Jonny is a talented young player who is still learning the game and we need to progress him at the right time. ”

– He said that all the young players released recently are now playing at Northern League level, proving they were not good enough.

– He says that good, winning football will bring fans back to Victoria Park but that attendances are decreasing across most clubs.

Well Mr Turner how many times has Sam Collins, Nelson and company *****ed up to cost goals this season? True though may not be the best time to play him as I think our midfield is ok just what is behing and infront of it is the problem apart from Porter of course.

And dropping or keeping ticket prices frozen next season will encourgage people back through the door,. I am hoping for a two quid reduction because I won’t be able to afford many games next season due to other commitments lol so thats biased. Will it happen, will it hell!

  • PooliePoolie says:

I can’t see a price reduction but I think a freeze is very likely and some ticket offers throughout the season.

  • PooliePoolie says:

I agree with you totally Stu. Turner is a great guy, nice bloke, wants the club to succeed but he is NOT the man for the job.

  • moscrof says:

Yeah a freeze is on the cards but if they go up to 22/20 quid they in for a world of pain

  • PooliePoolie says:

I don’t think they’d dare put the prices up. Not after this seasons shambles.

  • moscrof says:

u wanna bet? Hodcroft thort he was doing us all a favour keeping the prices frozen this season because it was our big year lol

  • PooliePoolie says:

And what a year it’s been!
