Leeds United assistant manager Glynn Snodin praised Jermaine Beckford after his strike gave Leeds a 1-0 win over Hartlepool.

Beckford’s low strike into the bottom corner on the hour mark made sure Leeds went home with all the points and Snodin heaped praise on the top scorer ”Give him the ball in the penalty area and he will punish teams. He is a class act, but just one of a few who played well in this game.”

Snodin believes Leeds had enough chances to win the game more comfortably but was pleased with the points”The players have been magnificent in recent games, and they were again today. We perhaps had enough chances to win the game more comfortably, but we are just pleased with the win in the end.”

As Leeds prepare to for their play-offs, still yet to be decided who they will play, Pools still need a point to secure safety in League One. Snodin said the only way to beat Pools was to attack.

”Hartlepool are lively when they attack and we felt the best way to beat them was to take the game to them, and that’s how it worked out.”

Pools are still not mathematically safe but if they avoid defeat away at Bristol Rovers next Saturday they can look forward to League One football at the Vic once again.

But whether or not the players who played yesterday for Pools, will be lining up next season, remains to be seen.

it wasn’t that good and Leeds proved they are not that good either I don’t think they win th playoffs as Millwall and MK Dons are good enough to put them to the sword

no one in this league has wowed me. they are no excellent teams. Leicester have walked this league, but even at there place they never really threatened us.

I think Peterbro will have to spend a lot of money to survive in the championship next season and the same goes for whoever wins the playoffs. Leicester will be mid-table.
