Hartlepool United’s new signing Denis Behan has told fans he’s thrilled to join the club and that he can’t wait to get started.

Released by Brentford as a youngster he admits that he didn’t have a proper chance to make it in England ”When I was in England before as a YTS I didn’t feel I really got my chance.

”But I’ve really worked hard on my game over in Ireland in the last couple of years and if the chance came along to move back to England I always wanted to take it.”
he told the official website.

The striker signed a contract at Victoria Park earlier today and he said he wants to make a big impact at his new club ”I think with the squad that the Manager has assembled we can give it a good push this season – I haven’t come over here to be involved in a relegation fight.

”I’ve spoken to Chris about it and he says he wants to give it a go so I’ve promised him goals and I’ve promised him I’ll give it my all whenever he wants me to play.”
