Thisisbristol are reporting that Hartlepool United are interested in signing Bristol Rovers winger Ali Gibb.

The former Northampton and Stockport (we keep getting linked with former Stockport players don’t we? I wonder why!) player is apparently in a contract dispute with the Pirates over his entitlement to a new deal at the Memorial Stadium.

Gibb’s current contract expires this summer, but he has a clause entitling him to an extension which is triggered after a set number of appearances. It is the interpretation of that clause that has led to the players dispute with his employers.

Gibb made 64 league appearances for Rovers in just over two seasons, although both of his last two campaigns have been interrupted by injury problems.

Newely promoted Hereford United and Torquay United are both showing interest in Gibb but Danny Wilson is believed to be sitting in pole position if the contract dispute is not settled soon.
