Hartlepool United’s League Two rivals MK Dons have today secured the services of Sheffield Wednesday winger Jon-Paul McGovern.
It had been rumoured that McGovern was high on Pools summer shopping list, but the spending power of Dons chairman Pete Winkleman and the persuasive powers of new gaffer Martin Allen convinced the flying winger to choose the Dons ahead of Pools.
So that’s two of Pools top targets (Hamshaw & McGovern) signed up and ready to face Pools in the new season.
I must admit MK Dons look a strong bet for the League Two championship, with the addition of Allen and some impressive signings, coupled with a brand spanking new ground I expect them to be a very strong team during the new season.

i agree dons for the title
the dons new stadium will open the same time as wembley, they are still playing in the hockey stadium this season
cant believe they have signed McGovern
well it coz we are the better club plus nobody wants to play for a team that is managedby wilson it happened to us and it will happen to u the only players you will sign will be people that nobody has heard of because nobody else wants them
It’s hard attracting players to MK Dons with their reputation of stealing Wimbledon, players don’t want to play for them. As it dies down and people forget then more players will want to join.
coz we are a atractive club and are going up
The word attractive will be thrown out of the window with Martin Allen in charge ;-).
The impressive signings though have to gel and that can sometimes take time.
your right there but good signings always help
