Pools In Talks With Danny Graham

Danny Wilson may be ready to make his first dip into the transfer market after reportedly entering negotiations with free agent Danny Graham.

After being released by Middlesbrough recently the Striker is keen to stay in the north east and could be pursuaded by another former smoggie, Gary Liddle.

The youngster joined Hartlepool at the beginning of last season and has completed a fantastic season at the Vic. Mr Graham will surely be aware of this.

Other sides interested include League One champions Scunthorpe and Carlisle United, Graham spent time on loan at the cumbrians last season where he scored 7 goals in 11 games. Carlisle manager Neil McDonald commented on other clubs interest “We have known about that for a while.

Despite this he told the News & Star he is confident in getting his signature “We are still in good dialogue with his representatives and we are getting closer every time we speak.”

Is Graham the right man though? his form at Carlisle was fantastic but looking at his record he has failed to set alight many of the other clubs he has been loaned to, this includes a shocking spell at Derby County where despite staring 11 and making 3 substitute appearences he failed to find the back of the net once.
