Penney: ‘Not Great For A Striker’

Darlo manager Dave Penney has today staed that he has not made any enquiries for recently released Hartlepool striker Eifion Williams.

After newspaper reports and internet chatter had linked the Welshman to a move down the road many had considered it a done deal but Penney told Look North otherwise ‘We have not made any enquiries for Eifion Williams.

He admitted that the player was unstoppable in the derby game at the Arena in march but was looking at his overall record ‘He scored two great goals here to beat us, but he got six during the season which is not great for a striker.’

There is still specualtion linking Eifion to Wrexham but it is thought he would prefer to stay in the area.
