Darlington have made another move in the transfer market signing former poolie John Brackstone.

Brackstone was released by Hartlepool United earlier this month and has, somewhat surprisingly, been signed up quickly by another league club.

The 22 year old played 35 times for pools in his 4 season stay at the vic scoring once. The goal came in his first season and was a well struck free kick against Whitby Town in the FA Cup first round. When his first broke into the first team he seemed a decent prospect but his lack of pace and poor passing meant he never got a proper run in the side.

Brackstone will most likely be cover for first choice left back Tim Ryan and if he plays anything like he did at pools I don’t think Ryan will lose any sleep over this signing.

Good Luck John at his new club

Another player who is still being linked with Darlo is Eifion Williams, he is keen to stay in the area and Dave Penney will obviously remember his performace at the arena in March.
