Hartlepool United midfielder Paul Murray has launched an attack on his teammates’ recent performances, criticising individual errors made by his colleagues.

Murray, who was one of the few shining lights in Pools’ 4-0 home drubbing against Charlton, said that some players needed to take a long hard look at their performances.

”Everyone has to go home and individually look at themselves. If you’re professional you should do that. Hopefully we’ve got good professionals at the club, which I think we have, who go home and do that.

”That’s the only way to get through this. I’ve done it myself over the last few weeks and my performances have picked up. went through a stage of realising what I was doing wrong.”
he told the Northern Echo.

The midfielder went on to say that giving soft goals away was costing the team dearly ”I’ve said before about individual errors and that’s exactly what it is again. You’ve got no chance when that’s happening.

”It’s just not good enough, we did it against Tranmere last week within a minute of the second half. You can’t get a foothold in the game and we need to stay in the game and you can nick a goal.

”But when you’re giving goals away the way we are it’s not good enough. It must just be a mental thing. It was the same last year when we went through a bad run. We were just giving crappy goals away then like we are now.”
