Colchester United boss Phil Parkinson believes Pools need to continue doing what we are doing to stay in League One. After Colchester’s 2-0 win over Pools Parkinson commented:-

‘Hartlepool need to keep faith with what they are doing, they came here to win and had two attacking wide players, not a lot of teams do that.

I am good mates with Scotty and it was sad what happened to him, but Paul Stephenson has done well since coming in.

It is a surprise to see them down there fighting for their lives, but when you take almost 50 goals out of your team for a large portion of the season, it is going to be a struggle.

I don’t care what level you are playing at, whether it is Premiership, Championship, League One or whatever, if you lose your main front pairing, life is going to be hard. If Manchester United lost Van Nistelrooy and Wayne Rooney, do you think they would cope? Of course not.’

Van Nistelrooy and Rooney or Adam Boyd and Joel Porter, same difference!

Paul Stephenson knows he needs to pick his side up after Tuesday nights disappointing defeat, with Bristol City coming to Victoria Park on Saturday we need to collect all three points before Bank Holiday Monday’s crucial game away at rock bottom MK Dons.

Yeah we’re playing ok but if we keep doing what we have been doing, we’ll keep on losing. I agree with the striking problem, we some clinical finishing.
