Nelson Pleased With Carling Cup Draw

Hartlepool United’s centre back Michael Nelson admits he’s pleased to have home advantage in the first round of the Carling Cup.

Pools will host Scunthorpe in the first stage of the competition and Nelson said it’s a good draw ”To have a home game at that early stage is good for us because all teams are looking to get off to a solid start.”

He told the official site that home advantage will be benificial ”We know from last season there will be plenty of travelling to be done and we could have some long journeys to contend with in the opening weeks so to have a game at The Vic is a big bonus for us.”
