Time for the new special computer that crunches the numbers to determine the final League Two positions for 2016/17.

Last season the Octopus feature was a regular feature for the Premier League, but whilst it was a late arrival for League Two – well better late than never – it might have been having its tentacles given a Brazilian I don’t know.

Then again I still don’t know why I call a number crunching supercomputer an Octopus but some things are probably best left unasked.

In any event here are the updated League Two predictions for the season of 2016/17 after all sides have played 44 games of the campaign.

Who goes down?! Who is the current favourite to lift the title this year?

Well you don’t have to guess.

With all playing 44 games in the League Two season of 2016/17, the current favourite to lift the title is now Plymouth Argyle who replace Doncaster Rovers by two points. Portsmouth remain in third place in the table.

The Play Off spots are also pretty nailed on if the predictions are to be believed – Luton Town, Blackpool, Exeter City and Colchester now take their places in the hopes for Wembley success – but Stevenage, Wycombe Wanderers and Carlisle United all miss out on goal difference.

At the other end of the table the two teams going down to the National League are Hartlepool United and Leyton Orient, with Newport County surviving by two points in 22nd place.

The one thing that can’t be denied now there are only two games left in the season is a number of clubs will now be very disappointed with where they find themselves (irrespective of if they put any stock in predictions) as the time for speedy change is now over with only six points to play for.

With two games left it’s also an end for this year’s predictions.
