Former Hartlepool United manager Martin Scott looks set to be appointed as coach at Premier League side Newcastle United.
As we reported a month ago, Middlesbrough removed Scott from his position as reserve team coach at the Riverside as Gordon Strachan reshaped his backroom staff ahead of the new campaign.
Now Scott looks set to make the move to Tyneside to replace Alan Thompson who left St James Park last week in order to join Scottish giants Celtic.

I hear Alan Thompson has joined Celtic as a coach so perhaps Scott is replacing him?
Quick trip to the bookies to place a tenner on the Skunks making a quick return to the Championship next season then… 😉
This is no reflection on how they will do next term as he is not at the helm.
