Former Hartlepool United midfielder/striker Chris Llewellyn has been called up to the full Wales squad for the games against Slovakia and Cyprus.

Llewellyn left Victoria Park in the summer after an unsuccessful season with Hartlepool United. A return to the club he left to join Pools has seen him refind his form and with Wales crippled with injuries boss John Toshack has come calling.

It’s been two years since Lewie played for Wales who were then under the stewardship of Mark Hughes. After his performances for Pools last season it’s a little difficult to accept he’s suddenly international quality again, not that he caused us any problems on Saturday of course, hey ho!

Im sure he wont be in the squad for too long. When the injured players come back he will be straight out.

This is a kick in the teeth for Eifion Williams, he could do a better job!

I’m surprised – he looked just just the same on Saturday as he did last season, lots of huffing and puffing but no end product. All I can say is Wales must be really desperate at the moment.
