Hartlepool United are almost certainly facing a return to League Two after a disappointing defeat at Oldham.
Report
John Hughes took the decision to reinstate Nathan Luscombe and Steve Howard to the starting line-up as his Hatlepool United side faced fellow strugglers Oldham.

Pools failed to get going in the game and were effectively beaten within the first half hour as Robbie Simpson and Jean Yves Mvoto both scored for the hosts.

The defeat was sealed in the second half when former Everton man Jose Baxter added a third with 20 minutes remaining.

This result leaves Pools on 32 points with just 7 games remaining, an virtually impossible task to reach the 50 points needed for League One safety.
