Hartlepool United wake up this morning preparing for arguably the biggest game in the clubs recent history since Cardiff.
Hartlepool were deducted three points on Thursday by the Football League, sending the League One relegation battle into utter jeopardy. Pools were plunged from safety to within a point of the drop. They have to better Tranmere’s or Exeter’s results today, or else, they face the chop from the league.
Where no strangers to last day dramas, but this is a last day drama with one hell of a twist. The eleven that are selected face the biggest battle of their season, of their careers. It’s do, or die.
It’s time for heroes, it’s time for winners, it’s time these players stood up and were counted for. It’s the difference between Sheff Wed and Stevenage. Southampton and Accy Stanley. Rochdale and Stockport. Its the difference between League One and League Two
Gillingham travel to relegated Wycombe in their bid for survival. However, don’t think the Gills will walk away with victory. Wycombe are on a very good run of late, and Gillingham haven’t won away from home all season. Exeter host promotion chasing Huddersfield, but the Grecians have an excellent home record. But be sure Lee Clark will have his men rattled up for this encounter, as second place isn’t too far fetched.
