Hartlepool United striker James Brown is set to miss Pools 2 pre-season games in Holland as he recovers from his knee injury.

Brown has only had 10 days of full training since his season ending injury last November and Chris Turner has decided not to risk him in the games against Dutch opposition.

”There’s no need to rush him, especially in the two Holland games. James Brown will have a good full three weeks of football training before he plays.” he told the Peterlee Mail.

He later added that Brown would feature in the games back on home soil and that he is recovering well.

”He is training very well and is looking good. There may be a chance of him having a run-out against Sheffield Wednesday in the second half but I am leaving everything down to (phyiso) James Haycock.

”We don’t want to be risking anything. He’s much more likely to be appearing in the games against York, Mansfield and Gateshead.”
