Hartlepool United have criticised the Football Association’s decision to fine the club following an incident at Bournemouth on Saturday.

A challenge by Andy Monkhouse on Warren Cummings towards the end of the game saw numerous Bournemouth players surround the referee. Monkhouse was booked but Bournemouth made an official complaint to the FA after the game.

Having reviewed the footage they found no further fault with Monkhouse’s initial challenge, the player having received a yellow card soon after the incident.

But the FA have fined both clubs for ‘failing to ensure that its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion’.

A statement on the HUFC official site says the club is ‘amazed’ with this decision and has put in an immediate appeal.
