Hartlepool United manager John Hughes will not look to extend the loan of Sunderland forward Ryan Noble.

Noble’s loan spell at Victoria Park was due to come to an end after Saturday’s game with Steveneage and Hughes has decided to allow the player to return to his parent club.

Hughes told the official site that he would rather focus on his own players than persist with Noble, who scored just once in 12 outings this season for Pools.

”With Ryan, I just feel like we have our own players in that style coming through, with Luke James now fit again after injury.” said Hughes.

”I think it’s important that we give our own lads the chance to show what they’re capable of so let’s hope they take that opportunity.

”I have spoken to Kevin Ball and I can’t thank Sunderland enough for letting us have Ryan and I wish him well for the future.”
