Another game, another defeat for Hartlepool as Stevenage left Victoria Park with all three points.
Report
Injury forced Hartlepool manager John Hughes into returning Jack Baldwin to the starting line-up in place of Peter Hartley while Paul Murray was dropped in favour of Charlie Wyke.

It was a solid first half for Pools but Stevenage capitalised on a single chance in the first half when former Pools trialist Marcus Haber nudged the ball over the line after his initial header came back off the bar.

The second half saw the visitors double their lead on the hour mark as makeshift right back Jordan Richards handled the ball in the area. Lucas Akins stepped up to give the Boro a two goal advantage.

Antony Sweeney hit the post late on for the home side but Hartlepool were unable to recover the game and have now gone 20 matches without a win in all competitions.

Better stuff by pools, but still Stevenage were poor, how there a top 10 team I will never know…all so the subs were strange, don’t get the point of bring a def midfield player on, play him in front of the back 4, when’s we’re getting beat, I would have out it would have been better to throw more men up front.
