Hartlepool United earned an away point against Shrewsbury at the New Meadow this afternoon.
Report
An unchanged Hartlepool side traveled to face Shrewsbury and picked up a solid away point this afternoon.

It seemed like the same old story for Pools as the home side took the lead midway through the half. Pools’ defence failed to clear the ball despite multiple opportunities and Jon Taylor made them pay with a close range finish.

But Pools bounced back and grabbed an equaliser ten minutes into the second half when a low effort from Charlie Wyke levelled the scores.

Steve Howard had an effort cleared off the line soon afterwards but Pools were left thanking Scott Flinders at the full time whistle after the goalkeeper pulled off two great late saves to ensure the points were shared.

Pools remain well adrift at the bottom but can celebrate coming from behind to earn points for only the third time this season.
