Former Hartlepool Stars Land Management Roles

Three former Hartlepool United favourites have landed new management roles, including Darrell Clarke and Ritchie Barker.

Midfielder Darrell Clarke spent six years at Pools, before moving to money-stricken Salisbury City. He played under his ex-Pools team mate Tommy Widdrington until the tough tackling midfielder joined League Two outfit Southend United as assistant manager today.

Widdrington’s move to work alongside new Shrimpers boss Paul Sturrock has paved the way for Clarke and Mike Harris to take joint charge of the Somerset side for the immediate future.

Meanwhile, last week ex-striker Ritchie Barker signed on the dotted line for Bury, agreeing to the join in the role of Head of Youth at Gigg Lane.
