Neale Cooper admitted that if his side had better finishing they could have beat Exeter but nonetheless took the positives out of the game.

A 0-0 draw against Exeter maintained Pools’ impressive away record, as well as making it two clean sheets on the bounce.

Speaking to Pools Player after the game, he said ‘‘Itwas a frustrating game really.

”We needed better quality because we gave the ball away too easily too many times.

”We created one or two chances and when you come to places like Exeter you don’t get too many so when they come along you have to bury them,’
the Scot continued.

”To be fair, they had some opportunities as well and they put us under pressure at times and we had to defend it well so possibly the draw was a fair result.

”But we needed somebody to get their foot on the ball and make passes because it was a little frustrating to watch in that respect.”

Pools did have a goal ruled offside, a Gary Liddle finish, but Cooper looked to the positives: ”We’ll take the positives on our long journey home though – we kept a clean sheet which is what we asked of the lads before the game and that’s our second in a row now which is something to build on.”
