Hartlepool United striker Colin Nish was sent off for Dundee on Saturday as the club remain rooted to the bottom of the Scottish Premier League.

Nish’s side faced second-bottom St Mirren at St. Mirren Park but fell behind to an early Steven Thompson goal, their task was made even more difficult when Nish was dismissed for a studs-showing lunge on Paul Dummett.

The Dee came back into the game with a second half Ryan Conroy penalty, but ultimately the numerical difference took its toll as St Mirren ran out 3-1 winners to leave Dundee four points adrift at the bottom of the table.
