Bristol Rovers manager, and of course former Pools player, Darrell Clarke has been one of the names linked with the vacancy at the Vic.

He’s told BBC Radio Bristol though that as much as it’s flattering that he’s being linked with a return to the club he spend several years as a player to succeed Paul Murray he’s very happy with his job at the Non League side and has unfinished business with Bristol Rovers.

‘It’s always nice to be linked with any job. I spent a good six years playing up there. I still know a lot of people at the club, but I’m happy with my job.

‘I’ve got unfinished business here, so nip that one in the bud straight away.’

The way things are going it’s quite possible that Pools and Bristol Rovers, relegated from League 2 last season, could pass at the end of the season so you can’t blame Clarke from distancing himself from the job at the Vic!

Clarke’s too inexperienced anyway isn’t he and wouldn’t be a wise choice at this stage.
