Hartlepool striker Adam Boyd‘s ankle injury is better than first feared, although he will be forced to miss the game with Walsall on Saturday.

Boyd was substituted after just 4 minutes of the reserve team game with Bradford yesterday but the injury isn’t serious and he should be fit to play in Pools’ clash with Carlisle on Tuesday.

Joe Gamble also looks set to make a quicker comeback than expected after completing half an hour for the reserves, he could be on the bench for the game with the Saddlers this weekend.
