Weekend Overview:

The Canaries were losing for long periods at Brighton before late goals from Grant Holt and Gary Doherty gave them a fine 2-1 success. Leeds squandered a host of chances at Leyton Orient and the home side made them pay when Tamika Mkandawire scored late on. Leeds were 30 seconds from defeat when Charlie Daniels’ own goal spared their blushes.

Colchester missed the chance to leapfrog Charlton into third after they let slip a two-goal advantage before being held to a 2-2 draw at Stockport. The points were shared at the Galpharm Stadium as Swindon and Huddersfield Town played a 2-2 draw with Tony Kay scoring the Terriers’ all-important equaliser.

Millwall have cemented sixth spot in League One following a late 1-0 success over Exeter. Carlisle rounded off a fine week with a 5-0 thumping of Milton Keynes Dons. The Cumbrians booked their place in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final in midweek and had five different scorers against Paul Ince’s side.

Struggling Wycombe remain six points adrift of Gillingham, who drew 0-0 with Yeovil, after being held to a 1-1 draw at Brentford. Oldham have climbed into 18th in the table following a crucial 1-0 success over Walsall at Boundary Park. Tranmere stay in the drop zone after being held by Southend at Roots Hall.

Mid-week Overview:

Leeds suffered their first home league defeat in 26 matches as Clayton McDonald snatched a late winner for Walsall in a 2-1 victory on Tuesday.

Huddersfield improved their play-off prospects and extended their unbeaten run to eight games with a 2-1 win over Carlisle at Brunton Park.

Colchester moved up to third in League One as they claimed a 1-0 win courtesy of a workmanlike performance on a muddy Yeovil pitch

Paul Heffernan’s first goal for Bristol Rovers clinched a well deserved 2-1 victory over promotion-chasing Charlton.

This Weeks Star-man:

Jabo Ibehre joined Stockport County on loan from MK Dons in the January transfer window. In only his third game for the club, Ibehre scored a brace against high-flying Colchester to rescue a point for struggling county, who where 0-2 at home in the game. Could Ibehre provide the goals County have been missing to help them avoid the drop?
