Paul Johnson played in Workington AFC’s 2-1 defeat to Guiseley yesterday as the young defender extended his initial month-long stay to a second on Friday.
The towering centre-half, who made his Pools debut in last season’s 2-2 draw at home to Bournemouth, had impressed Darren Edmondson during November and had his loan spell extended.
However Steven Snaith, who also travelled to Cumbria last month, is likely to return.
Meanwhile, Hartlepool United Youth Team have progressed into the third round of the Youth Alliance Cup after seeing off Scunthorpe United yesterday. John Hewitson’s men have now won successive games after a five game winless run.
