Hartlepool’s League 2 season continued with a draw against Crewe at Gresty Road on Tuesday.

After slipping three-one down Hartlepool came back to secure a point after a three-three draw at Crewe.

Paynter could have put Hartlepool ahead, not taking that saw Crewe punish Pools with Dagnall putting them ahead just past the half hour mark.

Magnay’s curling effort just ahead of half time had Hartlepool level but Crewe struck on half time to go two-one up at the break when Kiwomya scored.

Crewe opened up a two-goal lead early in the second half through Cooper but Hartlepool had hope again when Amond pulled one back in the final 20-minutes with Magnay’s header four-minutes later making it three-three and earning Pools a point.

Here’s a round up of the League 2 action from the other matches played.

Tue 16 Aug 2016 – League Two

Colchester 3-2 Grimsby 19:45
Crewe 3-3 Hartlepool 19:45

Morecambe 2-0 Portsmouth 19:45
Notts County 1-2 Plymouth 19:45
Wycombe 1-1 Accrington 19:45
Barnet 1-1 Blackpool 20:00

Not too many draws played out on Tuesday with the majority of games ending with a winner but one draw saw six-goals seen at Crewe with the Railwaymen and Hartlepool playing out a three-three draw.

Colchester are looking good to start the season, after dropping into League 2, with the U’s seeing off Football League returnees Grimsby edging out a five-goal match at the Weston Homes Community Stadium in a three-two win.

A three-nil win saw Leyton Orient get a home win over Stevenage with Plymouth’s disappointing start to the season ending with a win at Notts County, the Pilgrims went him with a two-one win.

On the topic of ‘disappointing’ that brings us to title favourites Portsmouth. They continue to wait for that illusive win; successive draws were followed up by a two-nil defeat at Morecambe’s Globe Arena.
