We’re continuing to hand out the Vital Hartlepool Awards with today’s going to the worst opponent we faced in League One last season.

There were a number of poor teams at the wrong end of League One last season but this award is shared between:

Cheltenham and Brighton

The Robins were relegated from the division at the end of the season while Brighton narrowly avoided relegation on the last day.

Pools put 4 past Cheltenham early in the season before losing at Whaddon Road while Pools and the Seagulls met four times last season.

Pools won 1-0 at Victoria Park in the league before drawing at the Withdean in the FA Cup first round. The replay went Pools way with a 2-1 win before going down 2-1 in the reverse league fixture in January.

The runners up were Yeovil and Hereford who both battled relegation, the Glovers surviving while the Bulls dropped into League Two with Cheltenham.

We’ll have more awards all this week, remember you can discuss the results in our forum and read up on the other winners by clicking below.
