Verdict On Liddlegate Appeal Expected Soon


Hartlepool United’s appeal against their three point deduction for fielding a suspended play is expected within the next wekk.

Pools were plunged into the relegation battle two days before the close of the season – but even with survival, Pools went ahead with their appeal after they were furios with the outcome. Hartlepool wrote a very angered speech, urging the Football League to alter their rules after Pools were charged twice other the accident.

The point deduction was imposed after Gary Liddle featured against Brighton – when he should of been serving a two match ban. The club were given 28 days to appeal on May 6th, and that appeal will be heard from Thursday, and a decision expected either the latter of this week or even a third hearing to take place the week commencing 7th June.
